Boulder County Republicans'

recommendations on ballot issues

" Channel 9 Who Cares Award"  Boulder Republican Women member, Linda Trumble, was chosen the Channel 9 to receive the " 9 Who Cares Award" for her work for the organization Sew Much Comfort.  The organization's aim is to provide hospitalized soldiers receiving prosthesis limbs with retrofitted street clothing that are certainly more comfortable and morale lifting than wearing hospital gowns.  Sewers across the nation are working to accomplish this.  Linda has been managing the work in 7 western states.  he presentation will be aired on January 3rd at 6:25 am with the long version (2 minutes), again at 5 pm with the shorter version (30 seconds), Saturday the 5th between 7 am and 9 am and then at 5 pm - both of these will be the short version.  If you sew and have time come join the sewers.  Contact Carolyn Hauser  v.hauser@comcast.net

SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WHO

WORK FOR SEARS AND GET

CALLED TO SERVICE IN IRAQ

Perhaps you have seen the reports about how Sears is treating its reservist employees who are called up? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up.. Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution.
