HONORS AND AWARDS NFRW – National Federation of Republican Women (Holds a convention biannually in odd-numbered years) The Betty Heitman Award for State Excellence is presented to state Federations that demonstrate excellence in outreach, programs and campaign activities. Awards are given for Excellence, Achievement and Accomplishment categories. The Campaign Award is presented to state Federations that demonstrate excellence in contributing volunteer time to the Republican Party, Republican candidates and the NFRW. The Club Achievement Award is presented to local clubs that demonstrate excellence in membership development, campaign activities, programs and club functions. Awards are given at Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze levels. (BRW was the recipient of the Diamond Award in 1981 and 1989, and the Silver Award in 1991) CFRW – Colorado Federation of Republican Women Ruth Parks Award is given to the local club which best implements state and national programs. Mary Lane Award is given to the local club for the largest per-capita number of non-paid volunteer hours in a calendar year. (BRW was the recipient in 1985) Other Awards are given for newsletter, membership and communications. BRW – Boulder Republican Women Big Elephant Award is given to deserving members for significant contributions of their time and effort in support of Republican causes, freedom, and “doing the right thing.” SPECIAL BRW PROJECTS Dictionary Project – BRW provides educationally oriented dictionaries which include information about our government, to every 6th grader at a Boulder middle school each year.Support the Troops – BRW members send boxes of well appreciated items to our deployed troops. Our members also make neck coolers and helmet liners which are sent to soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. Toys for Tots – BRW members contribute toys for the Marines’ program. Lincoln Dinner – BRW members volunteer in a number of ways to help the Boulder County Republicans have a successful fundraising event. BRW also contributes to the silent auction at this annual dinner. Summer Social – BRW hosts a summer social event in support of Boulder County Republicans. Mother House – BRW members contribute items helpful to the community organization.
